Innovation Federal Credit Union’s Chief Disruption Officer, Dean Gagne, presents a cheque for $12,000 to Mayor of Beauval on June 28th, 2023, to fund the expansion of the playground. The project aims to support local Indigenous communities and provide more access to healthy physical activity for an estimated 450 people each year. Innovation’s decision to fund this project aligns with the institution's long-standing Responsible Banking™ and community-first principles.
“Supporting local community projects has always been a priority for Innovation and it's why we're glad to see this application,” said Gagne. “A playground may sound like a small project but it’s a place where children can exercise, laugh, and make new friends which is incredibly important”.
Innovation’s community funding efforts extend to all community-based member organizations. Part of Innovation's new Community Legacy and Development Grant Fund includes $1 million for Indigenous communities over the next ten years.
