Stark & Marsh, Innovation Federal Credit Union, and The City of Swift Current are thrilled to announce that GoGreen 2024, the City's beloved beautification project, will take place on September 13th in Swift Current. In partnership with The City of Swift Current, GoGreen has become a staple event in our community, contributing over 400 trees, shrubs, and perennials to enhance our surroundings. This year, we anticipate planting an additional 791 trees, shrubs, and perennials across various project sites.
The 2024 GoGreen project sites include the City Ball Diamonds, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Outdoor Classroom Education Project, New Parkway Extension, RCMP Station, Flag Court, Douglas Drive Storm Pond, Elmwood Park, Saulteaux Park, Kinetic Park, Memorial Park, and Ashley Park, Central Ave., Gladstone St., and the Chinook Parkway multi-site cleanup initiative. We encourage businesses to participate by utilizing their staff resources, alongside members of the community at large.
Darcy Congdon, Director of Operations at Stark & Marsh, expressed his excitement, stating, "We are really excited to celebrate another year of GoGreen in the community. GoGreen provides excellent opportunities for like-minded businesses and community members to actively participate in a day dedicated to enhancing our community through beautification projects. It is truly fulfilling to witness the transformation of previous project sites and realize that you have contributed significantly to a remarkable community endeavour."
Daniel Johnson, CEO of Innovation Federal Credit Union, added, "We are delighted to celebrate our sixth year as event partners and witness the increasing enthusiasm and dedication among our staff and community to contribute towards building a more sustainable future in Swift Current. GoGreen is an extraordinary endeavour, and the significant impact we achieve within the City in just one day is an achievement that all participants can take immense pride in."
City of Swift Current Mayor Al Bridal expressed his appreciation of the event’s co-organizers, saying, "We would like to extend our thanks to our valued community partners, Stark & Marsh and Innovation Federal Credit Union, for their commitment to our community. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful city with many greenspaces. With this partnership, participants can make a lasting impact for years to come."
Volunteers are invited to register for all GoGreen shifts, which will take place in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and in the afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at starkmarsh.com/gogreensc. As a token of appreciation, all volunteers will be provided with a complimentary lunch, accompanied by live music, at Market Square from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The public is also welcomed to attend the BBQ for a $10 donation, with proceeds going to the SPCA.
