Innovation Announces New $5M Legacy Grant Fund

Saskatchewan is home to hardworking farmers, an ambitious business community, loyal sports fans, and most importantly, genuine difference-makers. The province is also known for its overwhelming volunteerism and community support. Unfortunately, sometimes it also takes proper funding to make an impact and not everyone has the necessary funding to make positive changes in their community. But finances shouldn’t hold you back from working on your local projects. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new $5 million Legacy Community and Development Grant Fund to support all our Saskatchewan members.

How it works:

The grant fund supports Innovation member organizations with a one-time project proposal. The funds will help with new or existing developments and can also help make large purchases.

Organizations are only allowed one application per project per application period.

Here are some key details to know before applying:

  • Innovation is taking applications year-round.
  • Minimum funding request per organization: $2,500/year
  • Maximum funding request per organization: $25,000/year
  • Disbursements January 31st and July 31st
  • You may receive your funding in full or in part.

Community-based organizations who are also Innovation members are eligible to apply. To see if you meet all the requirements for this grant fund, head to your local advice centre or check out our grant page for more information.

Why a Saskatchewan grant fund is important:

It’s true, Innovation is now a credit union with national reach, headquartered in the great province of Saskatchewan. But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten the people and communities that brought us to this point. The Legacy Community and Development Grant Fund is a way of showing our appreciation and continued dedication to supporting our current members and the province of Saskatchewan.

“Our current membership and community base are what made us who we are today,” says Dan Johnson, CEO of Innovation. “We’ve created this legacy fund to earmark dollars for Saskatchewan initiatives, to continue to reward and support our local members and their communities.”

The grant fund is separated into multiple categories with money distributed towards grants and underserved communities of Saskatchewan.

Despite Innovation’s move to serve more Canadians, our commitment to give back remains unchanged. The Legacy Community and Development Grant Fund shows our continued loyalty and support to you, our local members, that make Saskatchewan the fantastic province It is.
